How do I apply for food stamps in Vermont?

Application for 3SquaresVT can be made online via myBenefits or in person at your local district office. After your application is filed, an interview will be arranged, either by phone or in person, to determine your eligibility.

If eligible, you will receive an EBT Card, called “Vermont Express”, which can be used to buy eligible food items at participating stores and farmers’ markets.

Children whose families get 3SquaresVT, in any amount, automatically get free school meals if their school participates in the federal school breakfast or lunch program.

What if I need emergency food stamps?

If you are in a household with less than $150 in gross monthly income and have less than $100 cash on hand, you may be able to get Expedited 3SquaresVT within 7 days.
