HOPE Grant
Georgia’s HOPE Grant is available to all students from Georgia who are working towards a Certificate or Diploma at an institution of higher learning in Georgia.
Unlike the HOPE Scholarship Program, students are not required to graduate from high school with a specific GPA.
The amount awarded to each student may vary depending on the institution and the no. of credit hours in which a student is enrolled — but is capped at 63 semester or 95 quarter hours.

Who is eligible for HOPE Grant in Georgia?
- Be an Georgia resident and U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Have a high school diploma or GED
- Be enrolled in an eligible certificate or diploma program from a Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) or University System of Georgia (USG) institution
- Be in good standing on all student loans or other financial aid programs
- Not exceeded the maximum award limits for any HOPE program
How much is the HOPE Grant in Georgia?
The HOPE Grant award is a fixed amount per term based upon the institution and the no. of credit hours in which the student is enrolled.

How do I apply for Georgia’s HOPE Grant?
In order to be considered for HOPE Grant, you can either complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) OR complete the GSFAPPS electronic application.
The application deadline is the last day of the school term or a student’s withdrawal date, whichever occurs first.
