Oregon Opportunity Grant
Oregon Opportunity Grant (OOG) is the state’s largest need-based grant program for financially eligible undergraduate students enrolled at least half-time at an Oregon public college or university.
The OOG prioritizes students with the greatest financial need, with award amounts based on Student Aid Index (SAI), school type, and enrollment level.

Who is eligible for Oregon Opportunity Grant?
- Be an Oregon resident and U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen for at least 12 months prior to college attendance
- Be an undergraduate student with no prior baccalaureate degree
- Be enrolled at least half-time (at least 6 credit-hours) at eligible Oregon colleges or universities
- Must not owe a repayment or be in default status with federal student loans
- Must demonstrate financial need as evidenced of having an SAI of 8,000 or less
How do I apply for Oregon Opportunity Grant?
To apply for Oregon Opportunity Grant, you must submit your FAFSA or complete the Oregon Student Aid Application (ORSAA) and list at least one eligible Oregon college to be considered.
For renewal, you must submit a new FAFSA (or ORSAA) for each academic year you plan to attend a college or university. Awards are first-come, first-served until funds are depleted.
