Mississippi Tuition Assistance Grant (MTAG)
The Mississippi Tuition Assistance Grant (MTAG) is a need-based financial aid for eligible students attending approved public or private non-profit colleges and universities in the state.
MTAG awards may be up to $500 per academic year for freshmen and sophomores and $1,000 per academic year for juniors and seniors.

Who is eligible for Mississippi Tuition Assistance Grant?
To be considered for MTAG, you must:
- Be a legal Mississippi resident for at least one year before applying.
- Have a 2.5 GPA from high school, or have earned a GED/high school equivalency.
- Have an ACT score of at least 15.
- Enroll full-time at an approved college in Mississippi in a program leading to your first certificate, associate’s degree, or bachelor’s degree.
- Be eligible for less than the maximum Federal Pell Grant as determined by the FAFSA.
How do I apply for Mississippi Tuition Assistance Grant?
To be considered for MTAG, you must first submit your FAFSA and complete the Mississippi Aid Application (MAAPP) by September 15.
