Georgia TANF

TANF is the major cash assistance program for Georgia families with needy children who have very limited income and resources, including pregnant women. 1

Receipt of cash assistance is, however, limited to 48 months in a lifetime. Recipients are also required to participate in a work program for at least 30 hours per week.

Support services are also available, including child care, transportation assistance, medical services, and other support deemed necessary to help recipients remain employed.
