Wisconsin Tuition Grant

The Wisconsin Tuition Grant (WTG), also known as the Wisconsin Grant, provides need-based financial assistance to eligible undergraduate residents attending private, non-profit colleges and universities in Wisconsin.

Eligible students may receive up to $4,850 per academic year, depending on the school attended and student’s financial need as determined by the FAFSA.

Eligibility is based on the Student Aid Index  (SAI), with awards gradually phasing out at higher SAI levels. Students in private, non-profit colleges with an SAI of 10,000 or less may qualify for the maximum award.

Who is eligible for Wisconsin Tuition Grant?

  1. Be a Wisconsin resident and U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen
  2. Have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  3. Be an undergraduate student with no prior baccalaureate degree
  4. Be admitted and enrolled at least half-time a private, non-profit college or university based in Wisconsin
  5. Must exhibit financial need as determined by the FAFSA

How do I apply for Wisconsin Tuition Grant?

To be considered for this WTG, you must complete the FAFSA each year by April 1. Selection is based upon financial need with a limit of 10 semesters of eligibility.
