Alaska Performance Scholarship
Alaska Performance Scholarship (APS) provides an opportunity for Alaska high school students to earn a scholarship to help cover the cost of postsecondary education in Alaska.
Alaska Performance Scholarship is open to students in the following curriculum:
- Social Studies & Language Curriculum
- Math & Science Curriculum
Who is eligible for Alaska Performance Scholarship?
- Be an Alaska resident and U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
- Have a high school diploma or GED.
- Minimum 2.5 GPA.
- Must attend a university, a four-year college, two-year college or a vocational-tech school.
- Prepare for and take the SAT and/or ACT test.
- Meet satisfactory performance on a college or career-readiness exam.
- Have not yet received the maximum Alaska scholarship program aid (8 semesters).
How much is the Alaska Performance Scholarship?
The APS is divided into three distinct award levels based on a combination of minimum GPA and test scores.1 For example, students with GPA 3.5 or ACT 25+ may receive up to $7,000 per academic year.2

How do I apply for Alaska Performance Scholarship?
To apply for APS, you must first complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by June 30 preceding the start of the academic year.3 Awards are made until all funds are depleted.
