Qualifying households may receive up to $7,500 in heating assistance and up to $500 in crisis assistance. For LIHEAP cooling, which is available during the summer months, the cap is $1,000.

LIHEAP income guidelines for the current federal fiscal year, which runs from October 1 through September 30.

Cooling assistance is also available for individuals 60 years of age and older and for those with certain medical conditions who qualify for LIHEAP. Eligible households may receive help with the cost of purchasing and repairing air conditioners and other cooling devices.
