Arizona Leveraging Educational Assistance Partnership (AzLEAP)

Arizona Leveraging Educational Assistance Partnership (AzLEAP) provides need-based awards of up to $2,500 per academic year to help low-income undergraduate students pay for college.

Formerly known as the State Student Incentive Grant (SSIG) Program, AzLEAP awards are grants that do not need to be repaid.

AzLEAP is accepted at many public community colleges and universities across the state, including Northern Arizona University, as well as at participating private institutions such as Prescott College.

Who is eligible for AzLEAP?

  1. Must be a U.S. Citizen or an eligible non-citizen
  2. Must be a resident of Arizona
  3. Must be enrolled at least half-time as an undergraduate student
  4. Must attend a regionally or nationally accredited Arizona postsecondary institution
  5. Must have substantial financial need as determined by the FAFSA
  6. Meet satisfactory academic progress requirements

How do I apply for AzLEAP?

There is no separate application for AzLEAP. The program is administered and awarded through each participating institution  that will select eligible recipients for the award.

Funds are limited and typically awarded on a first-come, first-served basis by participating institutions.
