Nevada SNAP, also known as Food Stamps, helps low-income individuals and families buy the food they need for a nutritionally adequate diet.

Nevada requires all able-bodied recipients who aren’t exempt to register for work, accept an offer of suitable work, or meet other work requirements to keep their SNAP benefits.

Able-Bodied Adults Without Dependents (ABAWDs) ages 18—64 must comply with special work requirements or be subject to the three-month time limit.

Previously adults caring for children under 18 were exempt from work requirements. Now, this exemption applies only if the child is under 14.

Who is eligible for SNAP in Nevada?

What is the income limit for SNAP in Nevada?

Most families in Nevada with gross income up to 200% of the federal poverty level, or about $4,442 a month for a family of three, may qualify for food stamps.

Effective October 1, 2025, through September 30, 2026. Gross income limit applies to most households, except when at least one member is age 60 or older or receives disability income; in these cases, only the net income test applies.

How long does it take to get food stamps in Nevada?

Once eligibility is confirmed, you will be able to access your SNAP benefits no later than 30 days from the date the office received your application.

If you are eligible for expedited service, you will be authorized SNAP benefits within a few days, but no later than seven (7) days from application.
