Adult Student Grant
As part of the You Can Go Back statewide campaign, working adults who are 25 years or older without a college degree may receive up to $2,000 per academic year to pursue further education. The grant may be used toward tuition and regularly assessed fees.
The Adult Student Grant is specifically designed to meet the unique needs of working adults starting or completing an associate’s degree, bachelor’s degree, or certificates.

Who is eligible for Adult Student Grant?
- Be a Indiana resident and U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen
- Be financially independent as determined by the FAFSA and demonstrate financial need
- Have an Student Aid Index (SAI) of 2,000 or less
- Be enrolled in at least six (6) credit hours or their equivalent in any academic term
- Be seeking an associate or first bachelor’s degree, or a certificate at Ivy Tech Community College or Vincennes University
How much is Indiana’s Adult Student Grant?
How much aid a student can receive in one academic year depends on their financial need as calculated using the Student Aid Index (SAI).

How do I apply for Adult Student Grant?
Submit the FAFSA and the Adult Student Grant Application through ScholarTrack as soon as possible after October 1, as awards are made on a first-come, first-served basis.
