North Dakota Medicaid

Medicaid eligibility rules are changing in 2026. Members are encouraged to visit the Stay Enrolled  page to update their information.

North Dakota Medicaid is a program designed to provide comprehensive health insurance to eligible residents with limited income and resources, including families with children up to age 18, pregnant women, women with breast or cervical cancer and people who are aging, blind and disabled.

In North Dakota, Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota (BCBSND) has been the sole Medicaid managed care plan since January 1, 2022, covering adults aged 19–64. Children under age 19 and certain disabled individuals primarily receive services through a traditional fee-for-service model instead.
